Your Baja Connection is represented by Velia Rivas, Steve Steele, Victor Loza, and Miles Smith.  AMPI collected over 75 blankets for distribution to needy families in some of the poorest neighborhoods in Rosarito. The first stop was at a private home owned by a Christian couple who saw a need to care for children whose mothers are in rehab for drug problems. This generous couple have taken in as many as 14 children at a time, feeding, housing, and getting the kids into school until their mothers can take care of them.

The AMPI group then caravanned into some of the poorest neighborhoods of Rosarito, giving blankets to needy families whose homes are sometimes little more than plywood boxes built from scavenged materials.

AMPI Rosarito has also undertaken to support DIF (Desarrollo Integral de La Familia – a city government agency to develop the family core) in its mission to feed breakfast to underprivileged school children in Rosarito. In one month AMPI raised enough money to feed 80 children a warm breakfast every school day for a month.

DIF has several levels of sponsorship available; :

• $3.00 US will feed one child a cold breakfast every school day for one month.
• $6.00 US will feed one child a hot breakfast every school day for one month.
• $118.50 US will feed an entire class (approximately 40 students) a cold breakfast for one month.
• $237.00 US will feed an entire class (approximately 40 students) a hot breakfast for one month.
• $80.00 US will provide a child with uniforms, books, and school supplies for an entire school year.
